May Long Weekend

Our original plans for the weekend didn't end up working out,
so we headed to Derek's camp for the night.

Felix was so excited, that he was dancing in the car.

Post car ride snack of some grapes, with his pal, Hudson.

Folklore Festival

This weekend was the Thunder Bay Multicultural
Folklore Festival.

Singing, Dancing and of course food!

Chinese booth put on my the
Chinese- Canadian Association.

Chicken Balls ( A Canadian thing) and wontons.

Dishing up some fried rice.

We actually had to get a 2nd order of fried rice- felix just coudn't get enough!

More!

Having a wonton.

It was the first year that there was a
Mexican booth.

Appetizers made with Masa Flour,
black beans, onion and queso
fresco.

Tacos with corn tortillas, crema, queso and
hot sauce.

Yum!

Only complaint is that the hot sauce was not hot.

I guess it was simply....sauce.

Bannock Burger.

If you haven't had Bannock, it is a First Nations food.

A fried bread that is amazing. it looks like fried chicken a bit.

I am always disappointed with the quality of the meat.
It seems like a waste to pair this awesome bread with a crummy
pre formed frozen burger.

Yum!

Kabob Village Lebanese

Chicken Shawarma

Loch wasn't expecting pickles, and he got a huge bite of it.

Obviously thrilled.

But, I told him he could go get an elephant ear from the
Portugal booth, if he went and ordered it himself.

Adding the powdered sugar.

Final Product!

Sharing with Felix

They didn't quite finish it in spite of their enthusiasm.
